My favorite phrase is “Where there is life, there is hope.” I hope to share some tips and techniques that I use daily to help others have a better quality of life. I will also share stories about events that happened in my life, in hopes to inspire others to get out in the world and inspire change. Empowerment is the key.
About Me
My name is Megan, and I live in the Northeast Ohio region. I was in a motorcycle accident on July 12, 2007. This accident severed my spinal cord at the Thoracic-5/6 level, leaving me paralyzed from the Thoracic 4 vertebra on down. Since then, I have worked hard at becoming independent again and try to empower others to be as independent as their disability allows.
I believe that, while we may have a disability, WE are not disabled. There is still life to live and amazing opportunities out there, specially adapted for us. I make a conscious effort to use positive language and attempt to get others on board.
I am continually learning and surrounding myself with other wheelchair users. Learning different perspectives and issues that others face that I may not is a priority of mine. Currently, I am the President of the United Spinal Association Northeast Ohio Chapter and the Great Lakes Regional Chapter Coordinator with United Spinal Association.
Finally, I am a certified Life Coach and aim to focus on serving the community of spinal cord injuries. Email me with your interest in these services.
