Taking a vacation for the first time in six years is definitely exciting. And, being a blogger/vlogger I was excited to capture everything to share. However, I also wanted to be in the moment, be present, and not worry about “work.”

Before I talk about my vacation, I just wanted to remind you of two things.
First, if you need some journal/agenda to help you, I have the perfect one for you. I have been using the Push Journal Method for a while now, at least a couple of years, and it’s by far the best system I have ever found. In fact, I loved it so much, I based my Ultimate Goal Setting Guide on the principals of the Push Journal Method.
These journals have a month at a glance, a week, at a glance, and daily planners to go along with the Push Journal Method to keep you motivated and crushing your goals. You can click any of the links above to learn more.
And second, I am now a certified Life Coach and am ready to start taking clients. If you need some extra accountability for anything, or if you want to up-level your life, reach out to me and we can set something up via email, phone call, or video call! If you need help with anything disability-related, productivity/organization, nutrition, fitness, or anything relating to wellness, I can definitely help you out! I would love to work with you and see you grow and thrive!
About vacation…
So, as I mentioned, I was excited to film, like everything in order to share it with all of you once I got home. But, I also wanted to be in the moment and stay present. I put together a highlight video that showcased (most) of the exciting adventures we had while out in California.
After landing (and getting food), we went to Half Moon Bay to see the Pacific Ocean (my first time, Chris’s second – but first in California) and to take a walk. Our plane ride was about 5 hours, so after sitting still for that long of a time, we needed to move! Half Moon Bay was gorgeous and they even had a public beach wheelchair that we used so I could get on the beach and up close and personal with the ocean.
And, Chris did get hit! He moved us a bit too close for how high the tide was at that time. He was able to move me out of the way quick enough, but his feet and the bottom of his pants got it!
Day 1
Our first full day was spent in Monterey Bay. The views here were just incredible! Wait until you see it! We stopped and got out of the car and walked to different lookout points to see waves crashing and the bluest of blue waters. There were even some surfers out in the ocean that day! Talk about cold!
We also did a 17-mile drive that was sort of a guided tour. Upon entering, you are given a map with different location markers and at each marker, there was a little blurb about what you are seeing. It was actually quite cool. It took us through Pebble Beach, which if you didn’t know, is one of the wealthiest areas. Also in Pebble Beach is the famous “Lone Cyprus” which is the logo for Pebble Beach Golf Course.
Day 2
Our second full day was spent at the Aquarium in Monterey Bay. This is supposed to be one of the best aquariums around, and it was neat. They had different exhibits and “shows” throughout the day. We got to see a live feeding in the “open water” area. To see that many sardines swim in their pattern, all clumped together was rad. We also got to see an octopus, birds, touch stingrays, and we cannot forget the sea lions.
And we forgot to get a picture or video of the sea lions! NO!
Day 3
Our third day was spent hiking in a redwood forest, learning all about these beauties. The size and magnitude of these trees are astonishing. The history behind each tree and the fact they are centuries old is just amazing. I wasn’t expecting it to be what it was and so happy that we took the time to do that.
The rest of the evening was spent relaxing and gearing up for our last full day in California. The last day was reserved for exploring wine country!
Day 4
Sonoma/Napa Valley is beautiful. All the wineries, vines, and old buildings were just breathtaking. I always enjoy going to breweries and wineries to try all the different “flavors” and experiencing the environment. The two wineries we went to did not disappoint.
At the second winery, which was actually for sparkling wine, we did a full tour. Our tour guide was amazing. She was very knowledgeable about sparkling wine, the production, and the history of the winery. She also made it so much fun!
Then, we came home. Five hours on a plane, sitting still, not being able to move is hard, but we managed. Thank God for my Hollister VaPro Pocket Plus catheters that allow me to go where ever I am and for Chris for being okay with dumping it for me.
And that was our trip! It was so great and I will always remember it!
