It’s June! It’s June! June is easily one of my favorite months of the year. And that’s probably because it’s my birthday month! Yep! Tomorrow is my birthday and I LOVE celebrating ALL birthdays. Who wouldn’t want to celebrate a day that is devoted to you?! (And all other persons born on the same day, but that’s irrelevant :)). I believe it’s a day to celebrate what makes you, YOU. Strengths, weaknesses, quirks, passions, likes, dislikes, everything.
As you know, if you have followed me for awhile, a passion of mine is goal setting. If we don’t have a plan, how can we set ourselves up for success? We can’t measure what we don’t know, so I love taking the time at the beginning of each month to measure my success (and shortcomings/lessons – see how I didn’t use failure there?) and plan for the next month. Things have been going AMAZINGLY for me in the past month and I’m looking forward to keeping that momentum going.
Be like the tortoise.
You know the fable, the tortoise and the hare, where the slow and steady tortoise wins the race over the speedy rabbit. My blog and business has not really “taken off” yet. I keep working at it, and I know it will get there. I’ve started to see progress in me and how I approach these things and I know I still have so much to learn. If I keep plugging away, chipping away at all the tasks, I will get there.
In the past couple of months, I have had more exposure than ever before. That being said, there is still GIGANTIC room for growth, but the point is to celebrate the small steps. I began to reach out and start talking about my intentions and my passions. The more I talk about it, and the more I learn HOW to talk about it, the more my blog will grow. Slow and steady wins the race, right?
This month
My planning for this month looked differently than previous months. Yes, I am still using my bullet journal and planning methodology that I have written about in previous posts. I love my methodology and am starting to see results from actually sticking with it for more than a month or two. But, I was focused on making that side income; starting that side hustle. I had lost track of what mattered the most:
SERVING OTHERS.
So, this month I am setting goals of delivering killer content, connecting with YOU in the community, and building my TRIBE. Together, we can change ourselves and the world. These goals are starting right now. In the past, I was worrying about delivering content specifically on spinal cord injury and related disabilities. I still want to do that, and if there is anything you would like to learn about or hear more about, PLEASE let me know, but I’m going to shift just a tiny bit. We do so many things on a daily basis that is modified because of our disabilities that “normal” people may not realize. Just the other day I educated two of my friends on why being congested (thank you seasonal allergies) is different for me than it is for them. This is what I want to deliver. I want others to chime in on how they handle a certain situation when out in the community. I will deliver my way of handling something, and/or the mindset/perspective that I have, and I would LOVE for others to share their experiences. This will include healthy eating while dining out, barriers to inclusion, and how to fit in exercise daily (but the list goes on).
Feel me??
I’m putting this out there as a way to stay accountable. Later this week, look for a blog post about an experience I had this past weekend. I think it’s something that you have encountered before (or will at some point) and I would love to get your feedback on it.
I have finally finished my Ultimate Goal Setting Guide which outlines the planning methodology that I have been using for years and have had great success with. In this Guide, I take you step by step through the entire process and give you templates in the back to help you get started.
Already using your own journaling system?! No problem!
My Ultimate Goal Setting Guide can EASILY be adapted to whatever system you are already using. Just go through each step in your own system and you will still see the results!
Great things to come!
As always, leave me some feedback either here, below this post, e-mail me (megs@thewheellifeblog.com), or on any of my social media platforms! (FB/IG/TW @wheellifeblog and Snapchat @megsh8). I would love to hear from you and what I can do to help. If there is ANYTHING that you want to hear about – please let me know! I can’t do any of this without YOU, so I would love to connect with you!
Let’s keep those happy thoughts, productivity and self-care going! Live honestly, passionately, and with kindness!
